This is just a stupid little drabble set in Americaverse, where JUMP are all American
“Hunting?! That’s ridiculous!” Ryosuke yelps shrilly as Yuri pats him on the head in a preemptive attempt to keep him calm, “Your dad is going hunting?!”
“Not this time…” Keito trails awkwardly, looking backing and forth from Ryosuke to Yuto, who has been listening avidly with those big, shiny eyes he makes every time Keito starts talking about England. “He’s going on a shooting weekend in the country and he said if I wanted to visit home and bring friends I could…”
“What else is he shooting if it’s not hunting?!” Ryosuke insists, pointing at Keito accusatorially as if proving some sort of point that no one else understands. “That’s unethical!”
“Oh come on! Stop being ridiculous! I thought your vegan phase was over!” Yuto whines, looking long-sufferingly at Ryosuke. “Why do you always have to interrupt when Keito is talking, anyway?”
“Just because I couldn’t give up Greek yoghurt doesn’t mean I’m heartless!” Ryosuke squawks back with a flail, but before things can go down the imminent path to Yuto and Ryosuke bickering infinitely, Yuri nudges Ryosuke a little, catching his attention.
“I think he means shooting clay pigeons,” Yuri explains, rubbing Ryosuke’s shoulder in that mysteriously effective way he has that makes all the tension drain from Ryosuke’s usually tightly wound form. Keito laughs nervously, nodding before Ryosuke has a chance to get defensive after being so verbally wrong.
“Yeah— just clay pigeons…” he clarifies with an awkward laugh, running a hand through his long hair and shifting to look at Yuto and Yuri as well. “So, uh… do you guys want to come to England for the long weekend next month…?”
He’s barely gotten the words out of his mouth when, “Like, totally!” Ryosuke replies enthusiastically, as if he hadn’t been throwing a miniature fit barely thirty second earlier. “We’re flying business class, right?”
Yuto rolls his eyes, but before he can pick another fight, Yuri steps in again, much to Keito’s relief. “Why don’t we go back to your place and I’ll help you pick out what color polo shirts to bring…” he prompts, giving Keito a bit of a look over his shoulder as if to say, you owe me one.
Keito has a feeling that he owes Yuri about a thousand, actually, but for now, he mouths thank you back at Yuri before turning to Yuto. Perhaps he ought to reflect longer on his interpersonal skills or how to respond to Yamada being ridiculous… but for right now, he has better things to do, like pack with his boyfriend for their international weekend trip.
You're up, dusk037!
