"Okay, you can open your eyes and look now," Seyoung whispers with bated breath. She is standing with her back turned to the mirror, her body turned towards the couch where her fiancé is sitting.
She is nervous while awaiting Chanyeol's response, knowing that no matter what he says, she will still insist on wearing this dress and no other. It's like love at first sight, her heart beating a bit quicker and louder for a while. She can't ignore her feelings, just like so many other people who live with their heart leading their way, not their calculating brain. Of course, if Chanyeol loved this dress as much as she did, Seyoung would be happier, but he can disagree with her, like on so many other things they disagreed. Somehow, they've always managed to find some compromise.
Seyoung giggles, nervosity leaving her system as her laughter fills the room. Chanyeol is grinning at her, cheeks pink. He must be flustered for sounding so unintelligible, but his girlfriend doesn't mind. She's happy to see him speechless - a positive reaction.
"It's this one and no other, I know it," Seyoung whispers as she takes little steps towards her fiancé who is still sitting there, unmoving, as if he just froze to ice. Only his eyes are following her every move, and just for show, Seyoung twirls around once and twice.
"Sounds familiar," Jongmi mutters, who has been quiet until now. Seyoung isn't too sure why she had asked her best friend to tag along when she's got Chanyeol, but she is thankful nonetheless. Jongmi had been the one narrowing down the designs a few days earlier to a selection with all of the ten dresses fitting Seyoung's taste, and one of those ten being the dress she is wearing now.
It's a strapless dress, tight around her upper body down to her waist to elaborate her curves. She's glad, for once, about her bigger than average breasts - compared to average Asian females, that is. It had been a nightmare for her in her youth, with girls envying her and boys leering at her, a problem she encounters today, too, but for now, she is happy. Her breasts fill out the dress and she doesn't need to worry too much about her wedding dress sliding down with a bit of movement because of it's weight. And yes, the wedding gown is a lot heavier than expected, although it's mainly tulle that is used for the fluffy lower part of the dress.
"Familiar?" Chanyeol inquires, and Jongin nods. It's Seyoung's turn to blush now.
"After your first date, that's what Seyoung told me about you," Jongmi mutters, indifferent to Seyoung's soft whines of protest and her attempts at bribery (tickets to the newest ballet performance starring Jongmi's favorite Korean ballet dancer of all times.)
"That was supposed to stay a secret!" Seyoung complains, her cheeks reddening further under her boyfriend's intense stare. She's not one to be overly affectionate or cheesy with her words, so to have Chanyeol hear those kinds of comments is embarrassing. It's mainly because she knows how dorky her boyfriend could be, so he might upset her by making fun of her. Even if he means well, Seyoung would still feel mocked.
"No more secrets from now on," Chanyeol says instead, soft smile, gentle eyes.
"Not even the silly, unimportant ones?" Seyoung asks quietly.
"Not even those," Chanyeol confirms.
Seyoung nods and smiles back, watching as Chanyeol gets up and walks towards her in confident strides, taking her hands in his.
"That's why I need to tell you this," Chanyeol starts, and Seyoung fears for the worst, holding her breath as she awaits his words.
"I really don't care which dress you pick out. You'll look stunning in every dress."
