"Life on Mars is better than you'd think," Luhan hears someone say as he looks at his watch again. 19:13. "Heating bills are insane, though."
He sighs, glances over the menu for the 7th time and tries to settle his nerves. The waiter comes over again as he's sipping at his water, and Luhan politely delays ordering, insisting on waiting for his date. He ignores the skepticism mixed with slight sympathy on the man's face.
Suddenly he hears hurried footsteps coming towards him, followed by panting when Sehun stops and attempts to catch his breath, hand on his chest.
He trips over his words as he tries to get them out, red faced. Luhan can't help but feel a little endeared.
"- and then the bus just broke down, right there, floating between another bus and some expensive sports car and all I could think about was how I had been waiting for this date but now I was going to make y-
"Sehun," Luhan interrupts with a smile. "Breathe."
Sehun inhales, exhaling when he falls into his seat. "Did I mention that I'm sorry?"
"I think so," Luhan laughs. Sehun still has an expression that screams worry and oh god does he hate me on his face. "It's okay. It's not your fault you're late."
Sehun doesn't look so sure. Luhan hands him the drinks menu anyway, seeing the same waiter approaching in the corner of his eye. Sehun's eyebrows furrow as his eyes scan the pages; he sucks in his bottom lip and bites it. Then, feeling Luhan's gaze on him, he looks up. Luhan watches his face change, dark eyebrows rising slightly, a faint hue of pink spreading across his cheeks, eyes widening.
"Are you drinking?" Sehun manages to ask, looking back down at the menu.
